Labor Day Weekend is a great time to spend with friends and family on the water. The sun beaming down on the water and the company of your friends and family. What could be better? Here's some safety tips to help you really enjoy the boat this labor day weekend.
1. Check the weather
It's better to know the weather before hand. You don't want to get caught in the rain and have soggy sandwiches for lunch. So, be safe and check your local weather beforehand.
2. Consider a Free Vessel Safety Check
Take advantage of a free vessel safety check from the US Coast Guard they offer free boat inspections to verify the presence and condition of certain safety equipment required by state and federal regulations.
3. Follow a Pre-Departure Checklist
There's a lot you need for a day out on the boat. Here's a good list to check of some of the essentials before taking off.
4. Use of Lifejackets
