Golfing in the Heat
Aug 14, 2017
We have a great golf course here, at Captain's Cove. If the heat is keeping you from enjoying 18 holes with your friends and family, we've got some great tips on how to golf in the heat! We challenge golfers with one of the finest experiences on the shore.
Wear light colors
Everyone knows that darker colors attract more sun, so be sure to keep this in mind when getting ready for your golf trip.
Clothing fabric counts
Ditch the close-fitting spandex. Instead opt for breathable attire made of cotton or moisture-wicking fabrics. If you visit your local sports store, a sales associate should be able to help you choose appropriate fabrics like these. You can even check out our pro shop for your next tee time and we would be happy to recommend something for you!
Book an earlier tee time
The earlier you can book your tee time the better. Don't give the sun too much of a jump start to heat up the course.
Nutrition and water
It's important to prep, even the night before, don't load up on carbs the night before. The day before, you should eat a meal with protein and vitamins and you should even start hydrating with water days before. Drinking coffee, soda, or alcohol will dehydrate you quickly, so be weary of these beverages.
Also, while sunblock won't help turn the heat down it will protect your skin, so be sure to grab a high spf sunblock and bring it along so you can reapply.
With these tricks to face the warm weather, you'll be enjoying tee time with all of us at Captain's Cove Golf Course in no time!
