How to Use the 2017 Color Trends of the Year
Every year, paint brands reveal their forecast for colors that will be trending in the coming year. In 2017, we have plenty to choose from, including soothing neutrals, rich dark tones, and bright pops of color. Here are our five favorite colors of the year, and our favorite ways to use them in 2017.
Benjamin Moore: Shadow
This shade couldn't be more different than last year's color, Simply White. The rich, dark purple exudes warmth, so we love it in the dining room where guests and family gather.
Sherwin-Williams: Poised Taupe
The last few years have been all about the neutrals when it comes to paint colors, and Sherwin-Williams has this to say about its color of the year: "This timeless neutral is modern, classic and a beautiful balance of warm and cool." This taupe color can work in any room of your home.
This robust teal color is part of Behr's 2017 color trends, 20 new limited edition colors. We think Wanderlust can make a beautiful, rich accent wall in a bedroom or living room.
Glidden: Byzantine Blue
This blue-purple hybrid color offers a sense of calm and tranquility, making it the perfect soothing shade for a bedroom.
Dunn-Edwards: Honey Glow
This golden yellow is a great choice for an accent wall in the living room or kitchen, adding a cheerful pop of color.
A fresh coat of paint can change a whole room and it's an easy DIY. Take advantage of the spring weather, open your windows, grab your paint brush and freshen up your home this weekend!
