Kiptopeke State Park
Time: One Hour and Twenty-Five Minutes
An hour and a half away from Captains Cove is Kiptopeke State Park. With more than 5 miles of biking and hiking trails, explore the park's wooded area as you keep an eye out for eagles and other Virginia native wildlife. Swim in the coastal beach waters if you're looking to cool down or cast a line from the fishing pier for a little R&R.

Barrier Island Center
Time: One Hour and Ten Minutes
Once the home to a vibrant fisherman community, the Virginia Barrier Islands now serves as wildlife and recreation areas along Virginia coastline. The Barrier Island Center (BIC) strives to preserve the unique culture and history of the barrier islands through education and the collection and interpretation of artifacts. Entry to the museum is free of charge. Enjoy artifacts artfully displayed that tell the stories of the men and women who lived, worked, and played on the barrier islands.

See what life was like at the dawn of the automotive era! Auburn Heights Preserve features a furnished mansion completed in 1897 as well as the Marshall Steam Museum with the largest collection of operating steam cars in the world. Call ahead to schedule visit today!

Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum
Time: One Hour and Fifty-Seven Minutes
A true treasure of the Chesapeake Bay, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is dedicated to preserving and exploring the history, environment, and people of the Chesapeake Bay. Situated in St.Michaels, Maryland, the museum's boat collection includes 85 Chesapeake Bay authentic watercraft.
